Name:Maxine Fenwick Committee Role: Chair Club and position: Vixens I have played Netball since Primary School and have always had a passion for the sport. I played right the way through Secondary School and 6th form. I took a break to concentrate on travelling the country to compete in Show Jumping until I took up playing again 5 years ago. In 2008 I formed a Junior Section to the Vixens Netball Club and have developed the club from 30 members to over 100 over the last 10 years. I am their Club Chair and Head Coach with 11 teams playing in competitive leagues and many social players enjoying the sport. I coordinate the North Durham County Junior League. The league is in its infancy with 2 seasons under its belt with a very high success rate. This will continue with more teams being added giving good opportunities for juniors of not just those in our county but the region. I am a volunteer at the club, as a committee member and in all aspects of what I do for Netball. I recently won the Volunteer of Year award at the North East Netball Goalden Globe Awards which was unexpected but a privilege to have been chosen as the winner.
In my day to day job I am a Sports Development Officer. I support clubs and partners with funding applications, development plans, membership, accounts and promotion. Along with a whole host of other things. I have over 10 years experience in Netball development and have previously worked for England Netball as Netball Development Officer.
I have a passion for developing and maintaining good quality Netball for our County and its members. As you read on you will meet the rest of the committee. It is amazing how extremely lucky North Durham is to have these volunteers leading on Netball within our County. I am excited for the future as there are exciting times ahead as we progress and move forward.
