Closing date for applications is 16th November On behalf of North Durham County Netball Association, I wanted to drop a line to say how delighted we are at England Netball’s recent announcement that the return to netball can now progress to stage 4.
It has been 6 months since we saw most of our teams, clubs, coaches, umpires and volunteers take part in netball and it’s been too long! We know how eager everyone is to return to court following this latest development. England Netball have invested a great deal in ensuring that all those involved in netball have an enjoyable and safe return to our sport and I, along with other County Chairs, have been in touch with them throughout the pandemic. The safety of everyone involved in netball has been, and will continue to be, the top priority. NDCNA will therefore be following the EN guidance in every respect and doing all we can to ensure the return to netball in North Durham is a success. We are currently working on a plan regarding how netball at all levels will look for next few months and will share this with you when details are finalised. I know that you will all be as supportive as ever and be ready to work together to get netball back up and running in the County. I’m sure you’re already digesting the guidance and new rules and thinking about it in the context of your clubs and teams. I’d encourage everyone to be fully familiar with the adapted game and Covid safety guidelines and to keep up to date with the information coming from England Netball. We will support all our members as much as we can and will be very happy to help secure answers and solutions to the questions and concerns I know we will all have in the coming weeks . The committee and I are massively looking forward to seeing and playing netball with you all soon and once the plan mentioned above is drafted, we will be in touch again. Maxine Cutmore Chair NDCNA North Durham County Netball Association want to celebrate your achievements.

Following the government’s announcement (16.03.2020) around Coronavirus (COVID-19), England Netball’s Health Advisory Group has reviewed the government guidance provided and has made the difficult decision to suspend netball activity across the country at all levels of the game at this time.
The health and safety of the Netball Family is our main priority and to avoid the spread of Coronavirus we will be continuing to follow the government’s advice, which is to move away from mass gatherings and for the public to avoid any unnecessary contact where possible over the coming weeks. This means suspending competitions, courses, events, programmes, training sessions and all other forms of netball activity until further notice. As of today (17.03.2020) all NDCNA Netball activity is suspended until at least Easter but we will be taking guidance from the Government and England Netball. Suspended activities include;

How have you found the process of becoming qualified?
Absolutely fantastic, I have had great support from the county and my club, finding me mentors and supporting me. Even with my anxiety I have managed to get through my C award in less than a year, so thank you to all involved. What next? I have recently undertaken the course for the B Award and will spend the next year or two concentrating on that. What advice would give to anyone interested in becoming an umpire? Do It! It is scary at first, but then very rewarding, and of course the payments help ha. North Durham County will give you great support throughout. If Louise has inspired you to think about completing your C award you can find out more here; https://www.englandnetball.co.uk/make-the-game/officiating/officiating-courses/ |
